Lighting struck the coast
and the waters.
Were I swimming
would I feel the sparks
of God’s electricity beneath the waves.
Would it feel like a gentle cleansing
because of distance
or would it shock and startle.
Then I thought of you.
You, with your gentle smile,
and mysterious inner quiet
That speaks to me
Like this distant storm
which rumbles and reverberates
in the deep recesses
of my soul.
