Cold silent air
Before dawn

before man noise

The antarctic slides
Down slopes 
Amid eucalyptus trees
And uva vines
Into espino branches 
Where swallows gather
And doves quietly coo
Hillside life murmurs 
The ending of its night songs

This living mist
This thriving cloud
This gift of the sea

Light gathers.
