The night dreams of light,
in charcoal strokes
brushed on the earth’s
eastern curve
Of cobalt canvases
awash in streaks of gold
and winds billowing
cool droplets of
translucent cerulean blue
Of long rough cliffs,
twisting gray granite
and sheer drops through
gorges of green and umber
Of deep purple and violet hues
lighting vast stretches
of muted space
moments before
stirring from sleep
The night dreams
of an amber kiss
as it drifts slowly down
life’s western edge
